With the RSV4 motorcycle, Aprilia changed the oil viscosity grade to 10W50 on the 2019 1100 bikes from the 5w40 previously used.
The 10W50 7100 oil is 100% synthetic based on Ester-Technology which basically means it is a low traction coefficient Ester to minimize engine internal friction losses and improve performance. The Synergy of Ester also hosts anti-wear additives and improved shear resistance for improved gear protection and life time.
The Motul range of oils are extremely well developed and proven to work really well, so much so we use their oils here in the workshop for any servicing and maintenance requirements.
